Support for Residents Affected by Severe Weather in Herefordshire

As you’re aware we have experienced a weekend of severe weather across Herefordshire, which has impacted on our local communities.

The National Grid has informed us that there is approximately 180 homes in the county still without power, which they are working to resolve as a priority.

Western Power Distribution holds a register of all vulnerable or ‘at risk’ clients and these residents will be provided with emergency support (calls where possible/visits if not) and are connected with emergency services if needed.

Social care customers and self-funders, will be provided with support from their agencies. Vulnerable people will not be discharged from hospital to a home that has no power.

It is important for us to know whether there are any other residents in your communities that are in need of assistance due to the loss of power in their home, where there is no family, friends or neighbours that can support them.

If you are aware of any such residents, please email the Talk Community Team on [email protected]

providing as much detail as possible to help us assess how we can organise support for their needs. Please ensure that you have the resident’s permission to share their details in the first instance before contacting the team.

Our Talk Community Directory provides information for residents on our Talk Community Hubs, local support services, community groups and warm spaces across Herefordshire, for more details please visit www.talkcommunitydirectory.org
