Little Dewchurch Community Speed Watch Initiative

Willing Volunteers are needed to help run a new Community Speed Watch scheme to help our village become safer community.

Could you offer to become a volunteer? Are you keen to encourage safe driving through our village? Are you a team player and enjoy working together for our community?

The Parish Council has been approached by West Mercia Police to ask if the residents of Little Dewchurch would like to be involved with the Community Speed Watch initiative. They are keen to work in partnership with residents to help reduce excessive speeds and avoid potential accidents. This would involve volunteers in teams of 3 checking the speed of vehicles through our village. To be considered for the scheme we will need a minimum of six volunteers.

Full training from the police will given, including ‘Volunteering safely’ ‘How to work in a team of three’ ‘Monitoring traffic’ and ‘Recording the outcome’

We would be delighted to know your thoughts! So please do contact us if you’re interested and it sounds like something you would like to do, or you would to like know more about what is involved.
