Do you know of a child under 16 living with someone who is not a close relative for 28 days or more? It’s perfectly legal, but you have a legal duty to tell us about it so that we can ensure the child/ren are safe and support everyone involved.
These are often informal arrangements between the child’s parents and private foster carers. Examples include:
- Children living with host families while studying abroad or at boarding school
- Family friends looking after children to support the child’s family
Whether you are supporting a child, or know of a private fostering arrangement, we want to hear from you so that we can provide the appropriate support to all parties.
